Audi Sportback wins “The Best of Detroit Auto Show”

audi sportbackAudi Sportback bagged the Best in Show honors at the Detroit Auto Show, hinting at a possible A7 as its remarkable grille leads to a new design direction for Audi. Turbocharged with a 3.0-liter diesel V6 engine, the Audi Sportback concept clearly deserved to take home the award.

Car lovers praise the 2009 Detroit Auto Show for being invigorating and putting on spotlight the different advancements in designs, concepts, and technologies. The cars like any other previous exhibits were to drool for.

The Cadillac Converj snagged the Best Concept Award, rising about equally competent nominees. This striking two-door baby gets a highly improved Chevy Volt’s powertrain, now called Voltec. With its stunning grille, dramatic lines and headlights, the Cadilla Converj stood out in concept among its competitors like the Chrysler 200C, Volkswagen BlueSport, Fisker Karma S Sunset and Johnson Controls Interior Concept.

New Engine for the Pontiac GXP GT

The 2009 Pontiac GXP GT is now the most powerful Pontiac ever. It gets an engine upgrade from the powerful 361 horse power V8 6-liter engine to a muscle demon V8 6.2L that roars at 415 horsepower.

The new powerplant under its hood can bring the car blazing from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds. At 108 mph, it can cover the quarter mile mark in 13 seconds flat.

The best Pontiac production car had its suspension tuned at the Nurburgring. The race tuned suspension features front struts and shocks that are firmer, 245/40 summer tires wrapping the 19 inch wheels, and bigger rear sway bar. This new FE3 suspension is an upgrade from the FE2 setup used by GT.
