New Engine for the Pontiac GXP GT
The 2009 Pontiac GXP GT is now the most powerful Pontiac ever. It gets an engine upgrade from the powerful 361 horse power V8 6-liter engine to a muscle demon V8 6.2L that roars at 415 horsepower.
The new powerplant under its hood can bring the car blazing from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds. At 108 mph, it can cover the quarter mile mark in 13 seconds flat.

The best Pontiac production car had its suspension tuned at the Nurburgring. The race tuned suspension features front struts and shocks that are firmer, 245/40 summer tires wrapping the 19 inch wheels, and bigger rear sway bar. This new FE3 suspension is an upgrade from the FE2 setup used by GT.
The brakes are also a level up utilizing 14 inch rotors that makes use of four-piston calipers in front. The rear end has 12.8 inch rotors and single piston calipers.
The G8 GXP also comes with a six speed manual transmission in the form of the Tremec TR6060 system which features a fuel efficient skip shift facility. The specifications of this system though is better at a 3.70:1 rear end gears which helps with the faster acceleration compared to its predecessor which had a 2.92:1 ring to pinion.
The 19 inch standard wheels are coupled with performance summer tires on a 245/40R19 setting.
The drive will also be comfortable with the power seats embroidered with the GXP tag. Other notable features are the leather clad steering wheels and sleek sport pedals. The G8 GXP also has a Blaupunkt sound system that booms the bass at 230 watts.
