BMW – as you well know is one of those automakers that is known for their luxury cars as well as their cars being built – very built. BMW is not taking any chances at all with their reputation regarding the 2010 BMW ActiveHybrid 7. This is a car that is certainly going to be built to last and certainly going to have all of the BMW standards – as well as luxury.

The dynamics of the 2010 BMW ActiveHybrid 7 include a 449-hp and 479-lb-ft 4.4-liter twin turbo V8 heart it adds a 60-pound, 35-cell lithium-ion battery in the boot. Not to mention that the battery itself does not take up all that much room – for it is in the trunk.

Also, the battery will boost up a maximum torque to 516 lb-ft when everything is really humming. This particular huge car is very un-hybrid like, however, the 2010 BMW ActiveHybrid 7 is awesome!

Why would you not get a free Auto Insurance Quote right now? Think about it: it takes just a few minutes, it's absolutely free, it can save you hundreds of dollars per year (sometimes even thousand) and you might even be able to get better coverage! Why not? No reason!

Yeah, but really — the recently released Mercedes Benz SLS AMG sketches have to be some kind of spacecraft, right? Mercedes goes to Mars, maybe?

Don’t get me wrong, I think it looks pretty cool, and I know there are people out there who will buy this, but unless you’re sort of a d-bag with a garage of cars you never drive like Cameron’s dad in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, why would you want to?

Barring the the sudden fulfillment of the futuristic world the Jetsons promised us, where would you really drive this? It’s less a car than a frigging jet — not only was it inspired by an aircraft, but it actually has features like you’d see in a cockpit.

The 2011/2012 BMW 1: Love It or Hate It?

I spy with my little eye … something monochromatic but still psychodelic that doesn’t look … at all like a BMW. Wait, is that a BMW? That can’t seriously be a BMW, right?

Au contraire, my friends. According to Car and Driver, that is indeed a BMW. Specifically, it is the BMW 1 Series, the 2011/2012 edition. I know, I could not really believe my eyes either, but this is apparently the true facts.

I … cannot decide if I love this or if I hate it. To my way of thinking, prints of this nature belong only on clothing, wallpaper, and bedding. …and to be completely, bluntly honest? I would not buy a shirt with this kind of print on it. Furthermore, if I saw wallpaper with this design, I would stop to make fun of it and then keep on walking.

Is BMW trying to be fun? Honestly, what are they trying to do? I bring you this sneak peek in the hopes that someone can help me understand — why? Why for the love of all that purrs on four wheels?

The Speed is Not Enough: A Glimpse of Slow James Bond Rides

When you talk about one of the greatest spies on the silver screen, James Bond is all about women and cars. On hindsight, there might have been screen magic if we look at some of Bond’s car in the past. They are just to slow to catch the villains and bring them to justice.

Here are some of double 0-slow’s cars:

Aston Martin DB5

It debuted as James Bond spy mobile in the 1964 Goldfinger. The DB5 may be one of the sleekest and classic rides of the silver screen hero but it is also one of the slowest. This Aston Martin has a 4.0L engine that gives out 282 horsepower. The villain will be way ahead if he takes a bike since this roadster has a dismal 8.1 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph.

Toyota 2000GT Convertible

This is a timeless ride for the 5th offering of James Bond featuring Sean Connery. It is one of the only two 2000GT ever produced. Though it is very slow to accelerate, it might be considered as one of the most exquisite Bond mobile.

Lotus Esprit S1

This Lotus was featured in The Spy Who Loved Me in 1977. It became famous after James Bond drove off the shore of Sardinia and the car was converted into a submarine. It was cruising in the waters but it was turtle paced on land as it hit 10 seconds to reach 0-60 mph.

BMW Z3

This narrow bodied roadster was a laughable matter in the Golden Eye James Bond film in 1995. It may have been another reason why car chases take so long in the silver screen. The Z3 might have been better if the missiles mounted in its headlight were used in the film.

There were better rides for James Bond during the different eras of these films. Nonetheless, Bond and his girls know how to make this slow cars look better on screen.
