The new hybrid models of Lexus RX have a 3.5-liter V6, which produces a total output of 295 hp. The new RX 450h has 27 more horses than the current RX model 400h that has a 3.3-liter engine. Aside from the hybrid system’s new inverter, Lexus has also integrated two additional systems to improve engine efficiency: an exhaust-heat recovery system and an exhaust gas-recirculation system. The exhaust-heat recovery system shortens engine-warm up periods, while the gas-recirculation system helps lower gas expenses by cutting down on gas-pumping loss.

Aside from additional engine systems and upgraded suspension, the new RX models also have improved cargo space, six-speed automatic transmission, and remote-touch controller on the navigation system. The hybrid car models also roll out with an optional 19-inch wheel design, exclusive grille, blue-tinted and LED headlamps, front bumper, and hybrid tagging. The MacPherson strut layout, however, only has minor changes and updates.

As for the cabin interiors, drivers can now experience a more intuitive system via the remote-touch controller on the center console. The newly integrated wide-angle sideview monitor also gets plus points for safety and design because it gives drivers a better view of the passenger side blind spot. The 2010 RX 350 is slated for shipping and release in February, while the RX 450h will reach dealers in Spring.
