Tata discloses it will close Land Rover or Jaguar Plant
September 27th, 2009 — 11:48 amThe Range Rover line is still selling strong in the market while Jaguar recently introduced the range of XK and the 2010 XF but despite all these Tata confirmed that they will need to take drastic measures to revive the Jaguar Land Rover tandem. The 2008 financial year still did not return any profit for the premium British brands.
Tata, the mother company of the marques, looks at the positive side and still believes that Jaguar Land Rover will be profitable again in the future. Undeniably, cutbacks are scheduled to meet this goal, the Indian conglomerate will shutdown one among three assembly plants that construct the Jaguar and the Land Rover vehicles.
The time table for the closure should be completed by 2014 and the primary reason cited is to help the business recover and see some good news on their sales figures.
